ABOUT OUR HOME

Newport Beach is widely known for its luxurious lifestyle, beautiful beaches and its bustling summers. Perhaps it has gained most of its attention from the popular TV show “The OC,” but to some, Newport Beach is remembered by its street cars and pricey 500 dollar ocean front homes.

The land was first acquired back in 1875, and became the ‘New Port,’ hence its current name. This new port, currently the Newport Pier, became the largest business in the newly created OC, attracting ships from all parts of the world. Dredging projects went underway and Balboa, Lido, and Newport Island were created in the early 1900’s.

Balboa Island is now densely filled with beautiful homes, some maintaining the original cottage look. Balboa Island is known for its Banana-on-a-stick stands and cute boutiques. You can take your car across on the ferry to the old Balboa Pavilion on the Balboa Peninsula and explore the fun zone, as people have been doing since the first car crossed in 1920.

It’s not just the summers that attract people to Newport Beach. The annual Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade is a holiday tradition that began in 1908. Crowds gather to watch the extravagant boats decorated in Christmas lights sail around the harbor.

Newport Beach annexed ‘The Crown of the Sea, or Corona del Mar, in 1923. At the time, the only way to reach Corona del Mar was by sail boat from the end of the Balboa Peninsula. CdM is a close knit community that boasts gorgeous views and beautiful homes with well manicured lawns. The neighborhood is a walking community, as neighbors walk to the local restaurants, grocery store, or cute cafe’s for their morning cup of joe.

Whether it be the sun kissed beaches, the shopping, or popular summer rentals that attract people, Newport remains desirable to new families, retirees and visitors.
